Christopher's Story

Firefighter and Trustee, Christopher Evans, 43, has been volunteering since he was a teenager. “I have always been drawn to giving back and contributing to something bigger than just me to help my community.”

In the fire service for 20 years, Christopher has volunteered with Upper Macungie Township Station 56 for two years now.

“The greatest benefit I have received from volunteering is knowing that every emergency we respond to, we are impacting someone’s life in some of their worst possible moments,” said Christopher. “I also enjoy the comradery and the second family atmosphere.”

Any time a volunteer can donate is beneficial to the fire company as well. “Every little bit of time can help,” he said. “You can make a difference in someone’s life while contributing to society, and forging new friendships.”
