Do you want to save lives and save money? Fogelsville Volunteer Fire Company’s live-in program may be for you!
The live-in program is an exciting opportunity for college students and young adults who are available to go on fire calls 40 hours a week and in return, live at the station rent free.

Requirements to join

  • Ages 18 or older, full or part-time college student, or employed and working more than 30 hours a week.
  • Firefighter 1 certification or the equivalent. However, if you have no experience, you could join the station as a volunteer first. We will provide you with free training and equipment. Once you earn your certification, you would be qualified to join the live-in program.

Benefits to joining

  • Free rent at the station includes access to a shared living space for up to eight live-in volunteers.
  • A crew room and bunk room are equipped with a full kitchen, new appliances, a flat screen TV, PlayStation, new furniture and bunk beds. Additionally, there are separate locker rooms and bathrooms for men and women.
  • Be one of the first to arrive to fire and emergency scenes! Fogelsville Volunteer Fire Company responds to 400-500 calls per year, which range from resident and industrial fires to car fires and hazmat incidents.
  • Gain access to leadership roles within the Fire Company and opportunities to pursue the emergency services field.
  • Build lifetime friendships with other volunteers.
  • Free gym membership and incentive programs for the amount of calls you respond to.
