Michelle's Story

Michelle Conley, 30, is a volunteer firefighter and recording secretary for Upper Macungie Township Station 56, and joined the fire service eight years ago.

“I joined the fire service to help the people of my community and keep them out of harm’s way; it’s very rewarding!”

Michelle says volunteering has given her a sense of accomplishment and fulfillment in her life. “I enjoy all the time I spend at the Fire Department with my second family.”

For anyone considering volunteering, she says “Do it! Being a volunteer is so rewarding and fun. The experience you get is beyond measurable and the friendships you make will last a lifetime.”
