Join Our Firefighting Team: Stipend Program For Volunteers

Upper Macungie Township Station 57 is excited to launch an innovative stipend program, inviting dedicated fire service providers from the Lehigh Valley area to join our volunteer firefighting team. Whether you live in Upper Macungie Township or another part of the Greater Lehigh Valley, we welcome you to become part of our Fire Team family.

Why Volunteer with Upper Macungie Station 57?

  • Earn as you serve: Receive a stipend of $100 for a twelve (12) hour shift, 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, plus an additional $10 for each emergency you respond to during the shift.
  • Make a difference in the community: You contribute to the safety and well-being of our community, ensuring fast response times and the highest level of protection for our citizens and businesses.
  • Earn up to $14,000 per year while making a difference in our community.

Who Can Apply?

  • Anyone qualified and committed to fire service excellence.
  • Individuals ready to join our program and contribute to our mission of community safety.
  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • Driver: Driver Operator Pumper or Pump Operations 1 & 2, Emergency Vehicle Driver Training (EVOC), CDL Class B with Tanker Endorsement, Hazardous Materials Operations training with a current (no more than 14 months old) Refresher Course.
    • Crew Officer: NFPA 1001 Firefighter 2, Advanced Vehicle Rescue, CPR/First Aid, Hazardous Materials Operations training with a current (no more than 14 months old) Refresher Course, and a recommendation from current Station Fire Chief.
    • Firefighter: NFPA 1001 Firefighter 1, Basic Vehicle Rescue, CPR/First Aid, Hazardous Materials Operations training with a current (no more than 14 months old) Refresher Course and cleared to act in the role of an interior firefighter at a current station.
