Stephen's Story
“You will not find a job that is as rewarding as being able to save a life,” said Stephen Oplinger, volunteer firefighter and quartermaster at Good Will Fire Company #1 of Trexlertown.
Stephen, 58, has been in the fire service for 30 years now and joined to be a part of a group that was helping his neighbors. He has learned many skills through training and loves the atmosphere of the fire company.
“The training has helped me in my full-time job by being part of a team to get the job done,” said Stephen. “I enjoy the closeness of the ‘family’ of my brother and sister firefighters.”
